THERMAL-INSULATING MONOBLOC SYSTEM

The advantages of the thermal-insulating monobloc system for complete window openings

As a junction between the building envelope and the window frame, the Monobloc System ensures both quick installation and high thermal and acoustic insulation, certified in a single solution. Compared to traditional subframes, the monobloc system eliminates thermal bridges around the window frames and provides higher insulation performance. Therefore, it is considered an innovative construction solution for high- quality buildings aimed at achieving low-energy consumption and near-zero energy buildings (NZEB).

Furthermore, the INGENIUS line is equipped with features to accommodate smart solutions such as Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR).

The monobloc consists of three sections: the cassette, side panels, and optional lower sill.

The cassette, made of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), has high insulation properties and is prefabricated with a specific shape to accommodate the chosen shading system (roller blinds, sunscreens, or technical curtains).

The two insulated side panels consist of a fiber-cement sheet combined with a closed- cell extruded polystyrene (XPS) panel. The monobloc can be completed with a lower sill to provide insulation around the window opening on all four sides.

Constituent elements of the window monobloc

1. Prefabricated Casing

The prefabricated casing made of expanded polystyrene, with a patented raised groove, ensures suitable sealing for any type of finish and effective adhesion of plaster.

2. Motor and Other Accessories for Operating the Shading System

3. Insulated Sill

The insulated sill, also known as “celino” ,is a crucial component as it improves the thermal and acoustic insulation of the casing. There are different types of insulated sills available depending on the type of masonry and the desired maintenance approach.

4. Shading System

(roller blinds, sunscreens, or technical curtains; version of the monobloc available with side guides and curtain holders for shutters and blinds)

5. Insulating Side Panels

Insulating side panels are used to break thermal bridges and are equipped with an external profile for various wall finishes. They also include a guide for the shading system and an extruded aluminum or wooden false frame, specifically designed for the type of windows to be installed.

Each individual insulated monobloc is developed, manufactured, and assembled tailor- made. Like a custom-made suit based on the customer’s needs, it is created according to the dimensions of windows and doors, the type of window frames, and the shading systems to be accommodated, in order to meet every design requirement.
